EU-Russia Collaborative Research Network aims to facilitate cooperation and dialogue between the EU and Slavic and East European Studies research communities. It is sponsored by BASEES and UACES.

The main objectives are:

• To promote interdisciplinary research on areas of common interest between the two associations which lead to high quality publications
• To host panels at the BASEES and UACES annual conferences
• To organise workshops on key areas of research in the field
• To specifically target postgraduate students and to provide them with opportunities to present and publish their research
• To strengthen academic cooperation between the two associations and promote their respective profiles.

The network is organised in eight study groups:
• Political Relations
• Modernisation
• The Shared Neighbourhood
• Security Issues
• Energy
• Education and Training
• Freedom, Security and Justice
